Lakeside News

Check our website for athletic events and times.

-       If your child orders lunch during homeroom and decides not to eat, they are still responsible for purchasing it.  This is in an effort to keep our food cost to a minimum.
-       If your student is out due to sickness, vacation, etc. it is critical that they stay on top of their makeup work and tests.  It is the parents/student’s responsibility to stay in communication with the teacher so that all work is completed in a timely manner.
-       In the event your family is taking a trip during the school year, this must be preapproved by the headmaster in order for the absence to be excused.
-       Now that the cold is finally upon us, it is important that you label your child’s jacket with their name so if it is found it can be returned to the rightful owner.
-       When students are receiving take out lunch it must be brought to the main office.  For safety services, we do not allow curb side service.
-       The school Science Fair projects and reports are due on January 31st.  This is for grades 6th-9th.  No card tables please.
-       The basketball teams have advanced to the Elite 8.  These games will be played on February 2nd and game times will be determined over the weekend.
-       We are continuing to sanitize the school, but you can help us by making sure your child is fever and symptom free for 24 hours.
-       We are still collecting Boxtops and ink cartridges in the main office.

New Headmaster

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the hiring of our new headmaster for the upcoming year, Rick Rainer.  Mr. Rainer comes with 38 years of experience in education and has served as superintendent and principal in several districts.  Over the last few years, Mr. Rainer has traveled as a speaker and consultant to schools in the area of crisis management and school safety.  He has coached football, baseball and basketball, has served as a visiting chairman for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and served as a member of the SACS/AdvancED State Council.  He received the “Graduate Student of the Year” from Troy University and was awarded the “Ray of Hope Award” from the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce for service to the City of Enterprise, Alabama.  He and his wife LeRae are looking forward to moving to Eufaula and being a part of our Lakeside family.

Mr. Rainer will be visiting our campus during the months of March, April and May to become familiar with the day to day operations.  This will also give him the opportunity to get to know teachers, students and parents.
