Lakeside News
Please check our website for all our athletic events.  We have posted baseball, softball, golf and tennis schedules on the school website.

-The Book Fair will be March 15th-21st in the library.  The book fair will be open from 7:45am-4:00pm.

-Encore has been so gracious to do physicals for us this year.  Forms will be given to your student on Monday, March 19th and all paperwork must be filled out completely and turned in to either Coach Tom or Mrs. Sherri in the office by Thursday, March 22nd with a $15.00 check made payable to Encore. The physicals will be on Wednesday, April 4th starting at 5:00pm. (There will be no pre-physicals this year) Please keep in mind, if your child is playing football, cheerleading, basketball, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, volleyball, etc. (this includes PeeWee, JV and Varsity) they are required to have their physical completed on April 4th.  No one can participate in school sports without a current physical on file with the school.

-Bunny Grams will be on sale next week, and they are $2 each. Forms were given to your students today. We are also attaching a form for your convenience. This is a perfect gift for Big Chief and/or Little Chiefs. The deadline to purchase is Wednesday afternoon. The Bunny Grams will be delivered the Friday before Spring Break. Thanks for supporting the Junior class! Please contact Mrs. Callie Strickland if you have any questions.
-Attached is the PTO volunteer opportunities form for next school year.  If you are interested in any of these, please print it and return it to the main office.

-Spring Break is March 26th – April 2nd.  Enjoy your time with your family.

-April 6th we will dismiss at noon because of the Pilgrimage.

-On April 3rd, all Juniors and a few seniors and sophomores’ will be taking the ACT at the Senior center.  This test will be administered by the school and your student needs to be there by 7:45am.

-PTO meeting for our spring fundraiser will be March 7 at 5:00pm in the library.  If you would like to help with the fundraiser to earn parent volunteer hours, please contact Heather Newton or Jessica King.

-The Eufaula Art Scene has tickets for sale for their annual wine & cheese art auction. The auction will be on March 6th at 6:00pm at the historic Shorter Mansion.  The proceeds go to our area school art programs.

-9 weeks tests will be next week for upper and middle school students.  A schedule was emailed to everyone and is on our website under “School News”.

-The Preschool is selling Boston Ferns and Kimberly Queen ferns for $20.00 each.  They will be delivered on March 22nd.  An order form is attached for your convenience.

Pre-arranged absences for family trips will not be considered for nine weeks tests and semester exams except for extreme circumstances (refer to Absentee Policy). A student who misses a nine weeks test or semester exam for an acceptable reason such as personal illness, death in the family, or an emergency, must complete a make-up test in accordance with the school’s attendance policy. Students who are late for a nine weeks test or semester exam have only the remaining time to complete the exam unless there are extenuating circumstances. (The Lakeside School, Parent-Study Guide/Handbook, page 14).
