The Lakeside School
2018 Upper School First Semester Exams

Exams will begin on Friday, December 14th and run through Tuesday, December 18th.  Students should report to homeroom at 8:00 a.m.  The first exam will run from 8:15-10:15 and the second exam will run from 10:30-12:30. There will be a break for all upper school students from 10:15-10:30 each day. After the second exam, students are allowed to leave for the day.  School dress code does apply to exam days.

Please note that lunch WILL NOT be served for Upper School students December 14-18. Snacks will be available for purchase in-between the 2 exams.

Students will be required to remain in their classroom throughout the first exam period (8:15-10:15) as not to disturb other students taking exams. Please make every accommodation for your student not to be on campus unless they have an exam. Those students who must be on campus but do not have an exam or transportation will report to the gym to be supervised.

Pre-arranged absences for family trips will not be considered for nine weeks tests and semester exams except for extreme circumstances (refer to Absentee Policy). A student who misses a nine weeks test or semester exam for an acceptable reason such as personal illness, death in the family, or an emergency, must complete a make-up test in accordance with the school’s attendance policy. Students who are late for a nine weeks test or semester exam have only the remaining time to complete the exam unless there are extenuating circumstances.

-     School will be closed Wednesday-Friday, November 21st-23rd for Thanksgiving Holidays!
  • -     -Attached is information about reserved seating for basketball games.  Get your reserved seats today!
  • -     Middle School students need to pay their $40 by Tuesday, November 19th for the Alabama Shakespeare field trip.
  • -     The Preschool is selling poinsettia’s and an order form is attached.  The poinsettias we sell are shipped to us from Young’s Plant Farm in Auburn and are beautiful, quality plants.  **We would like to have our poinsettia count finalized by Monday, November 19th. Our poinsettias will be delivered the week after Thanksgiving. You may pick them up in the library (located in the upper school) Wednesday, November 28th through Friday, November 30th**If there are larger orders (10+) going to one location we will happily deliver them.

    JV and Varsity softball tryouts will be tomorrow on Field 7 at Old Creektown Park.  If your daughter is interested in trying out, please remind them to sign up on the girl’s locker room door.  There will also be tryouts on November 28th for those unable to make the 17th tryout.  Time has not yet been determined.
  • -     Don’t forget to pay your child’s class dues.  Checks need to be made payable to The Lakeside School.

Basketball Reserved Seating / Season Passes

Basketball season is fast approaching! The CHIEFS will play their first home game on November 27 and we are offering season passes and reserved seating passes so you can enjoy all nine (9) of our home games this season. Make sure to get your passes soon…as reserved seating is limited to the top seats only.

SEASON PASS - $63 – Includes admission to all home regular season games (does not include admission to the Shoemaker / Bradford Holiday Tournament).
RESERVED SEATING - $85 – Includes a reserved seat along the top row of bleachers to all home regular season games (does not include admission to the Shoemaker / Bradford Holiday Tournament). Reserved seats are assigned on a first come, first served basis.

Lakeside News
  • -     Tonight, our Varsity football players and cheerleaders travels to South Choctaw and play at 7:00pm.  We still have tickets in the office for $7.00.  Also, if you are not able to go, you can watch the game online.  Go to www.choctawsun.org and click on SUNTV Broadcasts.  You will be able to see the game and cheer on our Chiefs!

Lakeside News
-     Tonight, Varsity football hosts Pike Lib at 7:00pm.  Senior Recognition is at 6:30pm.  Come out and support our Chiefs!
-     SGA is participating in a relief effort to send essential supplies to Florida’s victims of Hurricane Michael.  They are due on Wednesday, October 31st
-     JV and Varsity softball tryouts will be on November 17th on Field 7 at Old Creektown Park.  If your daughter is interested in trying out, please remind them to sign up on the sheets posted on the girl’s locker room.
-     The Lakeside Chiefs will play South Choctaw Academy on Friday, November 2 at 7:00pm. It is a 4+ hour drive to the Mississippi state line and the bus would leave the school around 1:30pm. Students and parents are welcome to ride the 56 passenger bus. If your 7th-12th grader would like to travel to the game, we need you to contact the school by email or call Denise Corcoran in the office at 687-5748. If you and your younger child/children would like to ride the bus, parents are welcome to bring them along. The cost is $38.00 for EACH person. We must confirm the bus ASAP! Please come sign up in the office with Denise Corcoran as soon as possible!  When you sign up and pay, your money if non-refundable.  We also have tickets for the game in the office and they are $7.00 for everyone.  Please purchase them from us so our school will receive the money.
